Thursday 4th June

What a beautiful day!!! Clear skies, dry roads and a promising schedule for tonight's practice. Mark is a little ropey as he has the lurgi so Sarah's nursing him and hopefully he'll feel a bit better by practice time. Not too much to do on the bike.... Cleaning... Slight change on suspension, apart from that..just the usual checks.

All sessions are setting off on time, sidecars ready for 7.50pm... Weather is perfect and roads clear, Wayne and Mark ready....slight delay due to incident, 10 minutes till off. Mark still not too good so steady out the bag. Away they go!!!! 

05.11.612 to Glen Helen, but quick to Ballaugh in 03.47.855. Away to Ramsey and then up on the mountain. Through Cronk ny Mona to Grandsatand with lap time of 107.6303. Second lap away and good light still. Not much change to Glen Helen and only a .1 off to Ballaugh, picked up slightly to Ramsey, but the suspension is hard work and the flies have formed nicely over the visor so Wayne having to accommodate this! Mark tired and it's time to bring them in. A good time still, 107.6410, 10th fastest over the line.

adjustments to be made tomorrow.... Both driver and passenger needing a rest, Mark especially.

Few people realise how much hard work it takes to get a team to the race line....the long hours at work to allow you 3 weeks off work and the stress of preparing the bike, the running around for parts and paperwork. It takes its toll occasionally, and Mark needs a day in bed!! Good on ya Mark, get well soon ya beauty!! You'll be stronger and refreshed! 

After a a damp start to Friday, it's looks like practice should go as planned, sidecars out first.

TT 2015.... The journey begins!

Wednesday 27th May

Wayne arrived on the Island after a clear run up the motorway and a mill pond crossing! All good, Teddy helped set up camp, though they were missing the garage until later in the week. The weather want too bad but it wasn't going to last as they had forcast rain and high winds. A few laps in the van and a couple of folks to call in and see passed the time until Mark and Sarah, and Stu and Pearl arrived on Friday morning with the garage awning, so now work could begin on the preparation for the practice on Saturday.

Saturday 30th May

As promised, the weather had changed, Wayne hadn't even zipped his leathers up and the 'ping pong' of the speaker went.....bad conditions coming in and there would be no practice for the rest of the evenings. The newcomers had done one lap but the others will have to wait!

Monday 1st June

Horrendous wind and rain had ruined a lot of the awnings in the paddock and the mess was getting worse with the mud everywhere, luckily, our camp managed to escape damage. Practice was cancelled again. Lynda and Louisa had in interesting flight in from Staverton and was very glad to be on land, even though it wasn't very dry! 

Tuesday 2nd 

Yet more disappointment due to wet and windy on the mountain and a spillage on circuit, cancelled session! However, they had managed to get a few laps in at Jurby to do the necessary checks earlier in the day. All good.

Wednesday 3rd June

Yay!!! Sunshine!!!! All looking good for tonight's session, drivers and passengers chomping at the bit to get out! Seeded number 9, Wayne and Mark had a clear run to start.... To Glen Helen in 05.52.040, just going steady, bedding in engine, tyres and breaks.  Not too fast anywhere due to strong winds on the mountain but a fine performance on the Grandstand speed time...3rd fastest behind Holden and the Birchalls. A recorded speed of 130.66. Lap 2 and an improved speed, but poor light now and still windy, the boys brought a time home of 102..7469. 

Weather conditions for tonight practice is looking superb so undoubtedly there will a marked improvement on the speed as they can concentrate on a couple of flying laps.

Silverstone

After a relativly short journey for us,  it was time to get the rubber on the Silverstone International circuit.  Wind was a slight problem as Wayne tried to set up the garage awning.... That wasn't going very well!!! Not that I got involved with that! Sorry Pat!! The weather was ok on the Saturday morning after all checks were done and warm up called.... We'd had a shower but the wind was still fairly high so track was drying out pretty well and it didn't call for a tyre change. BMCRC  were the host club and had graciously arranged garage accommodation for the bikes which was fabulous, and meant that we could do all adjustments in dry and still conditionsI

Qualifying...you always try and get out as early as possible, but sometimes get held up in holding bay... However, Wayne and Mark do a great job and got a fairly decent position where they had room to move at 11th place, with a 1.15.842.

Race 18... Our first race...

Track was dry and it was a bit cloudy, as ever, Wayne wasn't happy with his start but he obviously made up for it as the team picked off some of the outfits and enjoyed the flowing laps around the famous circuit. Good solid race, with a few  changes around the track. Founds on excellent form, closely followed by Holden and Wayne and Mark had a final exciting battle for 6th place which is fantastic, ahead Ramsden and Atkinson. We had a 1.14.771, not bad.....

Sunday... Race 2

Warm up.... 1.5 laps!!!! Cold engine....I'm guessing they were pushed for time. Not enough time to get warmed up realy!! 

Anyway.... It was supposed to be last race of the day, but an unfortunate oil spill meant that the F2's we're sent out to as 3 wheels are better than 2!!!  Any how... If Rob Hancock hadn't of called we'd of still been watching scooby doo,  so many thanks Rob, was all a bit last minute dot com. So, by 4.20 ish pm, the boys hurried and got the outfit ready to set off. In all fairness, the whole day had been a bit rushed but it was a VERY busy meet and time was an issue. Setting off, back to qualifying position from day before, 11th place, they were well settled in and heading for an amazing lap time, working their way up the grid, but on lap nine, just past pit lane entrance on the noise, Mark was out for left hander and noticed a ploom of smoke and couldn't tap Wayne.... Wayne had noticed a mist of oil on the sleeve of his leathers and realised he needed to shut off ....there the race ended.......coming to a halt on start finish straight.

Lap 9 of 14...sadley, the engine had blown.Wayne had managed to pull over ASAP, and hopefully not too late. Damage fairly low we hope. We'll see!!!

DNF... First engine failure in 5 years.... Not a bad track record. 

It happens..... We will rebuild.....we will return!!!!!!!

I think we have a bit of work for the next race..... Check the calendar..... Isle of Man TT...

Oulton Park...1st round of British Championship

First round sent us up to Cheshire to Oulton Park where it had been about 10 years since Wayne had last raced there. The circuit was in immaculate condition in prepperation for next weeks BSB. Mark and Sarah arrived later in the evening and we unloaded and prepped for the saturdays racing.

Untimed practice was first and with 26 on the grid it was a busy pack to be in the middle of! all good though, engine smooth and gearing good... timed practice and hour later and Wayne and Mark found it a bit of a scrable to edge their way out of the bunch so they stayed safe and qualified 14th,  add on wet road because, yet again, the rain had followed us there and we needed to put inters on, so all in all, a fair place to be. This wasnt ideal though because they knew they could pick up the speed as the track dried out and needed the space on the track. Race 1 saw the former TT winner John Holden taking a good lead, closely followed by Founds, Harrison, Crawford, Ramsden.... there was a real battle going up in front and Wayne and Mark were having to stay out of trouble in the mid pack with Reeves and Lindley in front, tousling with eachother which made an overtaking move by Real Racing near impossible without getting involved! Unfortunatley, at the beginning of lap 4, Crawford crashed out and the red flag was shown. His passenger, Capewell was air lifted off and is apparently on the mend! The result was called and we finshed 13th with a time of 1.55.780.

Race 2 was running a bit late due to another incident so they reduced the race to 6 laps...

Setting off mid pack again, but able to pick off a few teams as the race progressed, Wayne and Mark were really enjoying this race and knew they would be on for a better time. The track was dry so the slicks were back on and they were able to get some warmth in the tyres! All good with the gears and engine, not too much traffic in the way either and by the time the chequered flag went up, they had worked their way up to 7th place and a respectable time of 1.53.177, a fraction behind Conrad and Founds/Taylor.

All in all, a good days racing, always need a bit more track time, that could of altered the times a bit for the boys but they were happy with the way it all finished for the day. Looking forward to Silverstone and round 2 on the 9/10th May. If any sponsors/supporters want to come and watch, please call team manager and ill sort a ticket out! Points table so far..7th place!

Olivers Mount Spring Cup

A long trek up to Scarborough on this sunny friday afternoon, but we were all looking forward to a great weekends racing! We got set up and did a couple of laps with Stuey (Marks Dad) in his car just to get a feel for it before we took the outfit out. All good, few lumps and humps in aukward places but nothing the boys wouldnt deal with! Mark, Sarah and Reckless (the hound) arrived later that evening, good to have the camp full!

Saturday morning and Tony Thirkell and Dean Kilkenny, locals to the area and experienced on this track, took the new comers out on a couple of laps, along with all the newcomer solos!! Solos followed behind a solo rider, but it was still a bit hairy watching the sidecars sniffing the exhaust pipes of the solos!!

All good, Mark has done this circuit before, so he was able to guide Wayne were he was happy for him to gas it etc! Qualifying next. With Moly, Conrad, Lindley and a few other locals there who have experience round here, there's no room to show off and be a trophy hunter, so as we were just testing, mid pack was good. After 4 laps thy were back to paddock and had qualified 8th.

Race 1

Very greasy under the trees, keen to stay out of trouble, the pairing headed off, no serious bumps or scrapes, just learning, just testing. Some good battles up front with Moly and Conrad, Lindley and Ramsden battling well too. Lowthers looking strong out there and Crawford holding his own. Times arent record breaking although Moly was close! Wayne and Mark finished the 6 lap race with a 2.03.078 in 7th place.

Race 2

Tyre change, back out, determined to make an improvement on their times, however, the weather had been against them and the gearing wasnt pulling right, so they decided to get round and just pull as much as possible, staying out of trouble. Louthers had a very unfortunate engine blow on them so after lap 3 the race was red flagged for safety, and all outfits were placed at the end of that lap. The boys had done the fastest new comer lap for that race with a time of 2.02.303, meaning, that had the race continued, they may have been able to improve yet again. 6th place finish, all ok and time to clean a very dirty bike!

Sunday..... the heavens opened! There was no point in the team going out in it, they wouldnt be able to improve on time with a very wet track and slow gearbox, so we called it a day. We decided to watch the races and enjoyed the rest of our time in sunny Scarborough!

Mallory Park testing

We had a little trip into Leicestershire today to do a bit of testing. EMRA had their first round and it was an ideal opportunity to check out a couple of changes to the outfit. A very cold start to the practice and qualifying, Started 2nd on the grid in the first race, badly worn tyres still on from last year so spun up a bit on start line, had a great battle with the Louthers, Crawford went off for the lead, having a good few fast laps, taking fastest lap in this race, getting into the 56's was a good result and a third place finish. Race 2 wouldn't be run for us as the tyres weren't up to it so we loaded up and came home! 

A good day though, usual Mallory cold wind for this time of year! Thanks to all at EMRA for a well run meet. Nice to see everyone and smell the fuel and hear the noise!! It's been a long winter!!

Next meet out will be Scarbourough 11/12 April! Again, bit of testing to be done but it'll be great to do a road before the start of the British Championship!

2015.... Plans for this season

Happy New Year!!

Welcome back!! Hope everyone had a good Christmas and a Merry new year! 

Well..... Whats the plan for 2015??!! 

We've had to have a long think about this one as we're always worried that the funds aren't going to stretch, or even be in the account to cover any of the years finances, but...... Here it is....

The British F2 Championship, the Isle of Man TT, the Southern 100 and possibly Scarbourough!

There..... I've said it now! No going back now!! Just hope that we have enough sponsors and supporters to help us achieve these ambitions.

With Wayne in the drivers seat and Mark back in the chair, we hope to have some outstanding racing and we will, as always, aim to achieve the best possible results, for the Team, our supporters, the sponsors and the fans of sidecar racing! 

We still will be coming round to see everyone and keep you all updated on our progress, both locally and through this blog, but in the mean time, if you need to contact us to give us all your money, just call the manager or email the team!!!

Sidecar bonanza report

Well, nearly the end of the season, the championship is ours, but another good race would be perfect to finish the year off. The bike seemed to be running smooth, however, an underlying problem was lurking!! Wayne and Mark qualified 2nd behind Conrad, this years TT winner! Everything was looking good, straight into 56's, with the weather being near perfect and the crowds waiting excitedly, they set off for the first race.

They led for the first few laps, even Conrad tried slip-streaming Wayne, but to no avail! The team was on a mission! Creeping up on the back markers, pushing as hard as they could on barely useable tyres, they came out edwina's and got held up giving Conrad the invitation to sneak up the inside and take the lead! :(  Two other outfits follow suit and this left the boys in 4th place, but we then noticed they didn't seem to be pulling up through the crowds again, even down the straight where they had previously had good speed. 

As they came out of Gerard's on the last lap, we notice them slow up and it was clear the race was over for Real Racing. Back in the paddock, Wayne and Mark started to check the bike over and realised that it was getting hot and had fuel issues again. 

Welldone Conrad on a successful season and another great win!

The taxi rides were out next and Wayne didn't want to let anyone down, so he topped up the fluids and checked the data to make sure the engine wasn't at risk, and went out for a handful of laps as a taxi! Great to see Jonny out there enjoying the buzz again, Carl seemed to hang on well and even got an extra lap in as Wayne wasn't sure where to pull in, and I don't think he managed to scare Gaz either!! Ha ha!!  £1200 was raised for local charities in Leicestershire that day! Amazing work in less than an hour, weldone everyone involved!

Although the racing was finished for Wayne and Mark, the rest of the crews had a fantastic few more races, the weather was brilliant, the crowds were all around the circuit and the organisers put on a fantastic weekend. Hopefully more outfits will make a show next year.

We didn't manage to get to Brands Hatch (the last meet) due to the fuelling problems and lack of tyres, however, we have won the BMCRC championship for the second year running, with a meet to go and still enough points in the bag.

The fire is in the belly for next year....... We hope we have your support and thank you for all your help this year!

Snetterton report

Saturday....race 1

After qualifying 1st f2, the team had a good start from 3rd row then had to quickly avoid an F1 that had got off to a bad start. Nothing too eventful after that, however, a good, clean race and they both enjoyed it, taking the win for maximum points.

Race 2.... Another good start, they set a really good pace and were enjoying their positioning until they had fuelling issues on the last lap and had to pull up on the last bend. Although this meant they DNF, they soon realised that their nearest opposition, Ilaria, also broke down so he didn't take any points for that race!! Parnell and Killkenny won the race which was their first win and the boys were very happy for them.

Sunday.... Race 1 (race 3)

Real Racing had to start on the 10th row due to the non finish the day before, (fuel problem sorted, minor issue). Brilliant start, Wayne describes it as 'feeling like Moses!!' , then went on to get into the 207's which is pretty good on worn out tyres!! Not to be defeated, they pushed hard and won the race which in turn, gave them enough points to win the championship!!!!

BEMSEE F2 champions 2014! Well done Wayne and Mark. What a team you are! You deserve to take that title. You have been described as the gentlemen of the F2's and you've earn't the championship!

Race 2 (race4).....

Away well again, time to enjoy a race without the pressure! F1's around the team, but the temperature was quite high and this made it hard work with the tyres. Although they still did 208's throughout the race, they enjoyed the last race of the day and took the final win to extend the lead one more!! ;)

Brands Hatch report

Wayne and Mark were 94 points in use lead so this weekend was a good chance to gain places and earn as many points as possible! Qualifying 2nd fastest overall next to the substantially bigger machines of the Formula 1 outfits, they were ready for an unexpectedly eventful race.

They got a holeshot at the start and were going really well, but Sean Reeves was catching them up throughout the race. The team went wide at Surtees on the last lap and Reeves went past, but they slipstreamed him back and regained the lead at the next corner. At Sterlings, near the end of the race, Wayne felt the number 35 outfit make contact and he managed to get past but going into the last corner, they both passed a back marker on the same side and Reeves must have misjudged Wayne's position as he tried to cover a move that hadn't taken place. The boys were holding they're inside line when Reeves appeared on their left hand side and this left no where for Wayne to go so unfortunately a collision occurred which saw Reeves upside down in the gravel. Luckily, Wayne was able to pull away from the 35 machine and get out of the gravel, and cross the line, at this point the red flag was shown and the race win was decided from the previous lap meaning Real Racing took 1st place.

Neither Wayne or Mark were injured luckily, and Reeves and Wilkes were treated at the scene, recovering we are told. 

The outfit had substantial damage to the fairing, wheel arch and exhaust, so the boys only had a couple of hours to get her fixed for the next race.

Race 2 was a good start and they had a great race with one of the F1's out on circuit. Some clean overtaking moves and a enjoyable race, where the team came in 17 second in front of Ilaria who is the nearest rival of the championship and they set the fastest F2 lap, taking the win.

sunday brought the stormy conditions and an extremely wet race 3, resulting in red flags due to spinning off by other outfits. Race re-started after dinner with a drier track but still poor vision. Eastell and Lacey made a careful and well performed manoeuvre to take the win and although Wayne could of got past at some point, with the conditions being so bad it wasn't worth the risk. They had rode well and deserved the win, also they are well away from the top spot so no need to challenge them. Dryer conditions for the last race, much to everyone's relief. Wayne and Mark had altered the gearing to give a better top speed which proved a good move as they won the last race of the day. 

A great weekend with some unexpected and eventful racing!!

Saturday qualifying

Wayne had a new engine to run in as it had been refreshed after the TT by Kieth Whiting, so they took it steady and ended the session in 12th overall.

1st race

This was a wet race, which was good for the engine but difficult to see ahead as the boys were middle of the pack! (Check out the pictures on Racingline photography!)  They steadily picked their way through the field ending up with a respectable 3rd.

2nd race

Got away well, a great start which, in turn, led to a great race with Shaun Reeves, but ended up handing him the lead on the last lap by running wide at the bottom of the mountain. :( Front tyre overheating? Or maybe it was just a driver error!! Sorry Mark!! Finish 2nd despite a bit of a hic-up!!

Sunday 1st race

Wayne thought they might make a couple of suspension changes to try and stop the front end pushing on, then adjusted the gearing, just to see if an improvement could be made. Really warm out there and ready to get off the start. Making a good get away, and keeping the race on track,  until, unfortunately, made another silly mistake at the bottom of the mountain again and the number 35 outfit of reeves didn't need another invite, so they took full advantage and went on to win the race. Mark, you are allowed to give your driver a drifter if he does it again!! That's permission from mrs bob!!!

2nd race

This was it! The last chance for a win!! A race long battle with number 35 ensued and after a bit of a coming together at Hall Bends. Number 35 got in front but the boys out breaked them at the end of the back straight to take back the lead and go on to win the final sidecar battle!! It was a hard fought race and a well earn't win. Thanks Mark and all the team!

Southern 100 Results

Saturday 5th July and it was time to give the bike a last run through before she was loaded up to head for the island. After running her up to temperature twice, Wayne noticed a bit of smoke from the exhaust and the breather pipe, so he decided to change the oil and filter. Something which would have been done anyway but the presence of smoke made it more of an urgency!

So, oil and filter changed, 2 more runs up to temperature, but more smoke!!! Arrrggghh! Only one thing.......

Yep, engine blown!!

A  phone call to a legend of engines, the one and only Mr Horst Walczak, who was, at this point, already on the boat heading for the Isle of Man, and Wayne had an engine to borrow!

If Horst or Wayne had needed a spare, there was only Wayne's standard left which would of had to of been Horsts firsts. 

By Sunday morning, the bike was loaded and all spares boxed up. Hope the weather holds up!!

Meeting Mark and Sarah at Liverpool Docks ready to go, they discussed the problems and decided on an early start to get the borrowed engine fitted!

Garage set up and spanners out! First practice at 7.45pm ish, so no stopping.

The weather was good and a steady run was all that was needed to bed the engine in and settle Wayne and Mark for their first Southern 100 together. After a good run, they reflected on the practice commenting on how sweet the engine was running and what a selfless gesture it was for Horst to lend it! Hopefully they could do it justice!! Out for second practice and another good run, tyres bedding in well, liking the road, getting good grip, bike smooth and the boys eager to get on!

Tuesday, rain and lots of it! However, it dried up enough in the evening for the third practice which saw the team have an even smoother run.

Wednesday, race day. 

Weather was beautiful all day which, in turn, led to low sun for the late starting race. The race was predominately 6 outfits in front of Wayne, Bells, Holden, Molyneux, Harrison, Bryan and Bennett, Holden was forced to retire with electrical problems which left the grid open for Wayne and Mark. An incident involving Bryan and Bennett, saw Wayne nudge the back end of Carls outfit,  which meant some traffic got passed. Although there was a hard fought battle with some eye squinting manoeuvres by the number 21 outfit of Lindley, Wayne managed to hang on to 5th place which was not an altogether pleasing result but a top six finish was a good start.

Thursday, 2nd race.

A consolation race for the outfits who finished outside the top ten from race 1, meant we all had the chance to watch some cracking racing and cheer on our Mr Horst who was putting on a great show and giving the race of his life!! His ambition over the many years of racing at the Southern 100, has been to do a lap at 90+ mph, having ever only got up to 89. Something the last couple of years, we all cheered him on so loudly!!

So when Horst and his passenger Shaggy, made it across the line in 2nd place with a time of 89.997, we we're all so proud but knew he had one more chance in the championship race to do it!

Championship Race....

Wayne and Mark got ready for the off, sun high in the sky and a very hot day. Starting in row 4, nice and quick, 2nd place away first lap, round again the 4.250 mile course, all smooth, engine good. Lost a couple of places due to the heat, but still having a good race. The usual outfits up front, however, Holden once again had to retire, leaving Conrad in first Wayne back up to second and Moly third.  Last couple of laps saw another eye squinting move by Moly around the back of the course and after a slight coming together, Wayne let the experienced old fella past, proving to be the right move as he was out of sight pretty quickly!! An incident with Darren Hope meant that the race was red flagged on the last lap, thankfully, driver and passenger ok, arm and leg injuries but will mend. Best wishes boys!

Fastest lap time was 96.425 on lap 4 and average speed of 95.112. All lap times down slightly due to the heat of the day but good results!

Well done from us all!! You both deserved that place and deserve to be up there! 

And Horst........ 9th place with a lap time of 90.358!!!!!!!! You BEAUTY!! Well done Horst and Shaggy!! Well earn't!!

Donnington report...

With the sun beaming down over the circuit, everything was set to be a good weekends racing!

Qualified 2nd F2. Start of the race, got hung out to  dry on the outside of Redgate and lost a few places but got straight back on the gas down Crainer Curves. Started to have gear selection problems at this point which, in turn stopped the team from making a decent challenge for the win and ended up finishing 2nd F2 behind Sean Reeves.

The pigeons were right and waynes toes were very painfull after trying to slam the gears in throughout the race, so alot of work to do for sundays race!

Race 2..

After working the night before to solve the gear selection problem, it was put down to the quickshifter jamming. They stripped it and gave it a good clean, re-assembled it, and although it was damaged, it was still servicable for the race. They had the option to use standard manual gear change if needed, but this was working for now! When they missed the warm up lap due to an electrical fault, it looked like being a useless race, it also meant they had to start from the back! This turned out to be an interesting and exciting race and saw the boys coming in at 4th place F2. Gearing now working at around 75%, so not totally useless!

Race 3...

Got down to Redgate on the inside and tried to challenge Reeves for the win but he made a fair and contolled move which allowed him to pull the pin and gave him 1st place with Real Racing coming in at a respectable 2nd. This give us a few more points and retain a good lead in the championship!

After having to deal with the gears and badly worn tyres, we now have a huge amount of work to prep the bike for the next road race on the Isle of Man, the Southern 100, on the 7-11th of July.

Thursday 4th June

The before shot!!

Bray Hill here we come!!

Race day on Wednesday was cancelled due to the cloak of manannin, had crossed from Ramsey and was bringing with it some more lovely rain!!

So, here we are, Thursday, race day.

Rain throughout the night had left the course damp in places, so Wayne and Mark set off down Bray Hill under caution and tried to gas it where possible without getting caught out! Not the place for mistakes and trophy eyes! Damp through Glen Helen and as they approached the mountain around waterworks, Wayne took the tear off from his visor and they all came off so he now had flies squashed on the visor which wasn't good for his vision! They we still on the noise though and came through the grandstand at 105.452.

Lap 2...... The road surface had improved slightly now and they gassed it up to Ramsey. A shower meant Wayne was able to rub his glove across his visor and clear the view a bit and take a better time of 107.639.

Lap 3.......with Greg Lambert and Kenny Cole in sight, and a clear road now, they opened the bike up, through to Glen Helen at 5.07, then off up to Ballaugh. Wayne had the number 10 outfit in close quarters at Rhencullen and all across the mountain section, down into Cronk ny Mona, until the got to The Nook and a gear slip saw a second lost, letting Greg finish just in front, but with the team finishing a fantastic 8th, with a lap speed of 109.154. 

A great TT for Wayne and Mark, 6th and 8th, silver and bronze replicas. Of course they're not totally happy with the engines as the gear boxes need attention, something we will get sorted as soon as possible. (Funds permitting!)

As for the head shave......they did it!! And, raised over £1000 for the Rob Vine fund, which provides medical care and equipment for injured riders and motor sports on the island. A worthy cause. Well done lads!!

We would just like to say a huge 'Thanks' to everyone who has helped support this TT and hope you will continue to follow us throughout the season. We are at Donnington Park on the 21/22nd June and then at the Southern  100  on the 7th/11th July.

Carl, we need some repairs!! We had a safe journey home and had no more damage to the caravan, but it's still poorly from the outward trip!! Oops!!

Tuesday 3rd June

Today was supposed to be an extra practice day as some of the sessions had been cut short, however, another sad day in the diary, after former British super sport champion, Karl Harris, lost his life on the mountain, just before Joeys. He had a coming together with another rider, who remains serious but stable. Condolences from us all and speedy recovery for  Joe.

Monday 2nd June

Out for practice at 4pm, a little bit late due to an incident at Balluagh, where sadly, Stroud man Bob Price lost his life. Very sad. Condolences from us all at Real Racing.

Wayne had changed the engine due the the fact the gear box wasn't quite as responsive as he'd of liked, so to refrain from over revving the engine and damaging it, he decided to change motors. However, this engine is running a treat, according to data and they are both happy with the practice lap. 105.12, just to run the engine in! A couple of tweeks here and there but generally all good for Tuesdays practice/qualifying lap.

Monday evening, awards at the Villa!! A very proud moment for all of us on the team. Thanks to Ted and Doc for managing to come down too. Hope you enjoyed the night! Seeing Wayne and Mark collect their silver replica was a fantastic moment and hope to have another good race on Wednesday!

Saturday 31st May

Here we go!

Perfect conditions, bike in mint condition and Wayne and Mark on good form. Start time was 2pm and it was all running fairly well to plan, a 2 minute delay and then the boys were off down Bray Hill.

Lap 1........ 05.14.989 to Glen Helen, bedding the bike in on the first lap, they had a good run up to Ramsey,  clear skies up on the mountain gave them a great run across to the Bungalow and then the decent to the Cronk ny Mona, crossing the Grandstand with a lap time of 20.47.89 and speed of 108.845.

Lap 2...... Same time to Glen Helen, would of been faster but an incident, involving the Birchalls, meant they had to slow up to pass. The Birchalls had ended their race, so now the leaders were Moly, Conrad, John, Tim and the Bells. Through to Ramsey from Balluagh with a time of 03.54.522 and on to the mountain. 8 seconds up on the last lap, 20.39.68 with a 109.567 lap speed.

Lap 3...... Moly crossed the grandstand with an engine misfiring and had to retire, leaving Conrad in the lead. Wayne and Mark trying for a flying lap now, up 6 seconds to Glen Helen, less fuel, less weight, more speed! Conditions still good, working well together. We could hear the coming down from Governors dip and the checkered flag was out!!!

Plenty of screaming and jumping around from the team, the boys came into pit lane return, dripping wet, swollen and elated! They didn't realise at that point that they had finished in 6th position and done a lap speed of 110.334, the best for both of them!! 

For the 110 lap, they both have to have their heads shaved! If you are on face book, check out Sarah Wells, Marks partner, and there are details regarding raising money for charity for having their heads shaved. This will take place after Wednesday's race, just in case Marks helmet doesn't fit properly!! 

With an average lap speed of 109.579, and a race time of 01:01:58:646, the team takes a silver replica and an awesome first race result. A huge well done  to Conrad and Mike on their first win! So pleased for you both. Congrats to John for 2nd and Tim for 3rd. All good results.

No racing on Sunday, there is a parade lap in memory of Evesham's Simon Andrews to which huge numbers attended. 

Working on the bike to prep it for Mondays practice, hopefully the boys can bring home another great result on Wednesday. Just hoping the rain stays away!!

Friday 30th May

Wayne and Mark went out to check the gearing and see if they could gain a few seconds, conditions were good, cloud coverage so no low sun. They got held up over the mountain slightly, but managed to put in a lap time of 21.13.281 at a speed of 106.6755 for a finish position of 9th.

All good, ready for race day!!!!
